Topic: Hyperion Smart View and Essbase Analytics Office Integration in Action
Time: 12:00 PM Until 1:15 PM EST
Date: January 26, 2010
Abstract: Oracle has integrated a powerful set of analytical capabilities with Office 2007. This session will focus on providing detail demonstrations that highlight a variety of Hyperion Smart View and Essbase related reporting and analytical capabilities. First we’ll show how Smart View enables refreshing reports directly in PowerPoint from a variety of data sources including Essbase Hyperion Planning, Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), and OBIEE. Next we’ll show how a user can link from an embedded data element in PowerPoint directly into Smart View Excel ad hoc analysis to further analyze the data. We’ll then show how to implement this solution from scratch, and how we can also link from PowerPoint into Hyperion Visual Explorer, a graphical analysis solution that can visually represent extremely high volumes of data. We’ll finish by showing how Essbase data can drill into supporting transaction data, and how a user can create a Smart Slice that allows them to perform all of the Smart View ad hoc analysis capabilities off line with a subset of an Essbase solution.
